Aphrodite Hills Golf Club

Azure edge of sea, two mountain plateau, sliding to the shore and the valley. This is the island of eternal golf. This is where the American designer Cabell B. Robinson, among the most well-known projects the legendary Valderrama Golf Club «raised» a champion field – “Aphrodite Hills”

The first hole arena Aphrodite Hills sets the tone for the entire field. In the middle of fairway to the great surprise of the players, the first time in golf’s arms of Aphrodite, “is a pile of stones. This is the remains of the village kilns for firing pottery. On the right of the stones – the bunker, on the left – the olive trees. The task is to manage to make at four regulatory blows. After two-hole heating the masters dive into canyon, then they climb to the next mountain where is situated the 3rd hole. If you play with distant – champions tee (teeing ground) – the first blow should break the 200-meter ravine, and the second one should try to pass a sequence of overlapping flares. In the last on this side of “Hills” – 7th (total 150 m) hole it only remains to admire the talent of Robinson and… damn it. This is visit card of this field and one of the most attractive holes in Europe! The designer put on the 30-meter depth at the bottom of the valley … the large green, surrounded by olive trees. You have to beat almost vertically down and try to choose golf club themselves for such blow.

The same exciting adventure waits for golfers on the second “nine”. “For example, on the 10th hole is to “capture” the green by lake and bunkers and fairway looks like a bottle neck at the approaches to the cherished goal. On the 12th hole the wind will blow about the golfers and frays their nerves. On the 16th  hole the fairway – escaping to the  right and framed by bunkers – will put a question point-blank, and everything will depend on the second strike. For the final, on the 18th hole for the first strike you should try to circumvent the coming fairway traps located, of course, in the possible place of landing of the ball. And then, the great view will open in front of the player – the emerald lawn and dazzling expanse of lake, covering the green plastic, which shape resembles man reservoir. But only in miniature.
