Spectrum S-40 Freedom
A new model of the aircraft from the company Spectrum Aeronautical has received a very poetic name Freedom.
The company proposed to develop the revolutionary aircraft of middle class, which is classified as an ultra-light. With the length of 16.4 m and a wingspan of 13,9 m, the weight of airplane is only 2197 kg.
For the production of Spectrum S-40 Freedom was used a complex material based on carbon fibres. The salon of 4.9 m length and 1,8 m width is designed for 7-9 passengers and has the same size of the passenger compartments as the most popular middle-class aircrafts. In addition, this aircraft has an unusual ceiling height – 1.8 m.
The new aircraft Spectrum S-40 Freedom is equipped with two engines of GE Honda HF120 with a speed up to 806 km/h.
High flight altitude, low frontal drag and high efficiency of engines offer low fuel consumption. It does not need big airports: run on takeoff is 915 m. A maximum flight range is 4074 km.
